The underlying vision for this school was to encourage and promote independent thinking and decisionmaking from a young age. The facilities have been provided according to the latest technological and infrastructural advancements, allowing academics, sports, art, dance and drama to thrive in newer forms. The client brief called for a design that could accord vastness to an otherwise modest site area and easily present the various physical components of the school’s infrastructure to students, staff and visitors. The design responded by placing the school facilities against the length of the site, which exhibit at a single glance all that the institution strives to offer: academic blocks, library, dining hall, hostels and other socio-cultural amenities. A pedestrian street connects these physical components like a microcosm of a city. The buildings create a city skyline and form backdrop to the large open space comprising entrance courts, play fields and a herbal garden. This also successfully fulfilled the Client’s desire to amplify the scale of the land parcel.
