Immaculate, pristine white buildings stand out like silent sentinels at one end of the dense Jahanpanah City Forest within Tughlaqabad Institutional Area of New Delhi. Comprising a cardiac centre, a super-speciality block and a nurses’ training centre, the buildings draw one’s immediate attention to this extension of the Batra Hospital. Completed in 2001, the new superspeciality block is equipped to deal with trauma cases and houses 200 beds devoted to intensive care. The well-equipped operation theatres are fitted with the most modern lifesaving equipment that provide surgical as well as neurological operating facilities. The block boasts of ICUs and OPD clinics as well. A new cardiac wing, comprising 40 beds and additional angiographic cardiac treatment facilities, was added during the expansion.
